Horseriders

Now that you have finally met someone, you want to enjoy their company and make the most of the time you have together.

Being active together can be fun and more importantly can help a couple form a stronger bond. Time spent together opens up topics of conversation and reveals things about one another that perhaps you would never have known.

Communication is key, so mention to your partner what activity you are thinking about before your forge ahead and make plans. Ask them if they would be interested in joining you and listen to them to find out if they have other suggestions.

Home Projects

Perhaps it’s a project that you started but never finished or perhaps you envision a new look in a room or want to make some renovations around your home. Doing home projects together can be fun and rewarding if you are both into it. If you have separate homes, be sure to even out the time that you spend helping each other out. Warning: only tackle one project at a time!

Day Excursions

Take an early morning train or drive to a nearby town. Make a day of it and go hiking, shopping and enjoy a quiet lunch in the town. Spend the whole day out and about and return home feeling well exercised and having spent lots of quality time together.

Dinner

You can find lots of options in your hometown from dinner on a cruise or riverboat, or dinner on a train, or a special restaurant that you know your partner will enjoy. Or, you can easily make a ‘date’ at home and create your own gourmet dinner together. You can have fun picking out the recipe, planning and organizing where to purchase the fresh ingredients and return home to cook and enjoy your meal together with a nice bottle of wine.

Physical Activities

Yes, sex of course (but we know that you are doing that all in between these activities!) How about going for a hike or a nature walk or take up bowling or tennis together. There are lots of physical activities offered at your local community centers such as swimming, tennis, and racquetball. Go golfing; it’s really fun as a couple! Some couples go to the gym together too.

Take In the Arts

Visit a museum together, art gallery or go to a concert, jazz club, comedy theatre, play or an off broad way show or the opera. There are lots of places to choose from, just take your pick and enjoy the show together!

Find a Hobby you both enjoy

If you don’t already have one together, talk about it and see what you mutually can enjoy together. It may be collecting rare items such as books, china, nautical items, train sets, music LP’s, etc. or you may enjoy antiquing visiting antique shops, flea markets, garage sales and auctions in nearby towns.

The possibilities are endless. You can try a different activity every week and see what resonates best with both of you.
