Salt is considered to be the white gold of Earth. Formerly, in ancient civilizations, salt was considered to be a valuable bartering tool, and was used as a form of payment for trading goods. It was considered to be more valuable than gold. Water is our number one food source, and salt is our second. However, what do we really know about salt? Little is actually known about the biophysics of salt.

We know that natural crystal salt contains all natural minerals and trace elements that are found in the human body, and all 94 natural elements from the periodic table of elements (stable and unstable) can be found in crystal salt. Crystal salt runs in glistening clear, pink and reddish veins through the salt mountains located throughout the globe.
Salt is a core essential nutrient that is fundamental to our overall state of health. When we lack the complete and pure elements of salt, we suffer from a chronic energy deficit and are thus ‘incomplete’. However, if we consume pure salt, we can correct the energy deficit and restore balance.
Unfortunately, many of us today still use common table salt as our source of salt. Due to the emergence of industrial development, table salt has been stripped or ‘chemically cleaned’ of all its natural constituents and left with only two elements; sodium and chloride. These two elements on their own form an unnatural, isolated, unwholesome substance and has nothing to do with actual salt. It is not only unhealthy but dangerous for human consumption. The most commonly known negative health effect from the excessive consumption of table salt is hypertension (high blood pressure).

The is due to the fact that the body recognizes table salt as an aggressive cellular poison and wants to eliminate it as quickly as possible in order to protect itself. It does so by surrounding the sodium chloride with healthy water molecules, which have been sacrificed from our perfectly structured cell water, in order to isolate the over-dose of toxic salt and neutralize the sodium chloride.
If, after the above process, the sodium chloride is still too high, the salt re-crystallizes itself as the body uses available proteins to produce uric acid in order to get rid of the excess salt. The result is the formation of overly acidic edema (water retention), which is also the cause of cellulite. This process also causes various forms of rheumatism, arthritis, gout, kidney and gall bladder stones.
This whole process burdens our organs of excretion and is only a band-aid solution in order to protect the body from irreversible damage, but ultimately, it poisons our system because the substances cannot be disposed of.
Why, you may ask, was natural salt ‘stripped’ to begin with? Simple. About 93% of the worldwide salt production is used for industrial purposes, in which sodium chloride is required, not natural salt. A few common examples include: the production of pulp and paper, setting dyes in textiles and fabrics, and the making of soaps and detergents.
The other remaining 6% is used to extend the shelf life of food products for up to one year which is good for the food industry and bad for us. The salt industry did not take into consideration the immensely unhealthy impact and damage it would make on our bodies and try to convince us that the addition of iodine or sometimes fluoride to table salt will somehow make it ‘healthy’. It does not, so don’t be fooled.
What can be done?
There are obviously other alternatives to table salt, including Rock Salt, Crystal Salt, and Sea Salt. However, there are a few things to clarify about each one.
Sea Salt: Salt is most plentiful in the ocean, which covers approximately 70% of the Earth’s surface. Unfortunately, the ocean has become a massive waste dump and are being polluted every day with toxic chemicals and heavy metals like, lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury and more. Think of all the oil being spilled and how we are warned not to consume too much fish due to its high mercury content. The same goes for sea salt, it has become far too toxic to be of any benefit to our bodies.
Rock Salt: Rock salt is derived from salt deposits found in salt mines and is a wholesome, natural substance. However, the elements within rock salt have not undergone sufficient compression to be fully fused into a crystalline structure. Basically, this means that rock salt is just too coarse or harsh and unrefined to be absorbed into our cells in order that it may be used to nourish us. Many stores carry rock salt as a cheap alternative to table salt, and it is at least a healthier alternative.

Crystal Salt: Natural crystal salt has been subjected to enormous pressure over millions of years. Salt crystals manifest itself into a superior structure than that of rock salt and therefore makes it biochemically available for our cells to use. Ultimately, this means that crystal salt is naturally refined enough to penetrate our cell walls and be metabolized. Crystal salt occurs sporadically and cannot be mined mechanically. It must be mined manually in order to retain its natural qualities. Thus the higher price for it.
There are many companies advocating their crystal salt is natural and the real thing but be wary as some have mixed or confused rock salt as crystal salt. Therefore, when purchasing crystal salt, be sure to research and check its origin and proof of quality through the internet or other media. You can do this by going to your local health food store, write down the names of the crystal salt stocked on their shelves, ask an associate if they recommend any particular brand and why or go home and research it yourself.
I personally have tried many, but still prefer one brand of crystal salt mined from only one exclusive location in the Himalayan Mountains called:
Himalayan Crystal Salt, The Essence of Life
It’s a bit trickier to obtain but is well worth the effort.

If this salt comes from the Himalayas, does http://www.baconsalt.com/ come from God himself?
