As a young child, I was always aware of and mostly lived in the super natural world. It’s a world wherein everything is revealed and yet at times can be very confusing. I could never understand why my parents, my older sibling and others around me could not see or hear what I saw or heard. I didn’t know that the ‘beings’ that I was seeing and speaking to were from another world. They were just a part of my reality and I didn’t question it any further than that. I can remember telling my mother of having dreams of dead relatives and how in the dream while they were speaking to me, how they wanted me to relate back their messages to their loved ones. My mother was usually very nervous when I told her about them. As a mother myself now, I can understand why. In the end though, my mother did relay the messages to the intended recipients and they were able to confirm back to her that the information and details related, were in fact valid and accurate.

You may think perhaps I was crazy, right?

I can understand someone reading this would come to that assumption, however I just knew it to be different. I knew I wasn’t crazy. These beings were real and that was that. I didn’t really talk about what was happening around me until one night, a cousin who was staying over for the night screamed that he ‘saw something’ looming over his bed. I asked him to describe her to me because of course I could see exactly what he was talking about and sure enough, we saw the same thing. I talked to him and told him not to be afraid of her and to just ‘talk’ to her, she was just lonely….…he wanted nothing to do with it and continued to scream.

Eventually my mother came in and asked what was going on. My cousin described what he saw, pointed at me and said ‘she saw it too, she saw it too!’ We were basically ignored and put to bed like a sound and rational parent would. After all, there was no one in the room, or was there?

The next morning, my father and mother laughed at our little drama of the night before and assured my still terrified cousin that it was just a bad dream and that there was nothing to worry about. He didn’t believe it of course.

As I grew up, my ability to see or sense the super natural eventually declined. It was no longer a part of my everyday reality and it just gently faded away. They say that children are most susceptible to seeing in other dimensions because they have such an open and unfettered mind. Perhaps so, whatever the reason, it didn’t freak me out as a child. Regardless of not seeing and hearing other entities as I did so easily as a child, those experiences led me naturally to explore spiritualism as an adult. I have spent a lifetime of learning and growing through spiritual teachings, books and most of all through meditation.

I would have to say in my humble opinion that meditation is the key to understanding the super natural realities around us. It helps to clear our minds and ground us in order to help facilitate opening up to other dimensions. Only through deliberate and focused meditation can one become proficient in one’s spiritual abilities and progressing any further in esoteric studies. Through meditation I have learned a lot and continue to do so every day.

One of the inevitable things that a person comes across while travelling one’s spiritual path is being connected to their Spirit Guides. These guides are non-corporeal entities that help to guide us along our spiritual path. Some people refer to them as Guardian Angels although technically this is incorrect as a Guardian Angel will come in time of need to anyone who calls upon them, usually for protection; a Spirit Guide is not an Angel but an entity working solely with that specific individual to help them progress on their spiritual journey.

Through meditation, one begins to get a ‘feel’ of their own Spirit Guide (and it is always a loving and comfortable feeling, anything less is NOT your Spirit Guide!). As you begin to commune with them on a regular basis, contact becomes easier and your high sense of perception begins to open up more clearly and effortlessly. One begins to get images and pictures and tingling sensations. Everyone is a little bit different but usually the process of contacting your Spirit Guide remains consistent for each individual so that the individual knows that he/she is contacting the right entity.

I was able to contact my own Spirit Guide named Nikai (pronounced ‘knee-kai’) one day in my daily meditation. He is a Native American male, A Shaman and Medicine Man and my teacher who has trained me in several past lives. My connection to him is very deep and profound. I recognize his presence through his vibration (an energetic imprint) and through images he would give me before I would be able to clearly see his face. He would usually send me an image of an eagle’s feather before I would see his face and once I clearly saw him with my high sense perception he always spoke the word....

‘Takinte’ (pronounced ‘tah-kin-teh’).

Initially, I did not know what it meant until finally I realized that it was not a word that he spoke, it was a name, my name. When he spoke that name it was filled with an extremely high vibration of love that I could physically feel it in my body mostly concentrated in my chest and heart area. Whenever I heard the name being spoken and felt the subsequent emotion, I always wept with tears of joy. It is truly a wonderful feeling that words fail to describe. I was confused as to why he called me that since I had never heard of that name being given to me before, so I asked him why he called me that and what it meant.

This is what my Spirit Guide, Nikai said to me.

You are part of the Chosen Ones; a person who has a Gift in order to develop it, you are;

The One Who Has Chosen

The One Who Has Courage

The One Who Seeks Truth

The One To Invoke Change

The One to Grow and Evolve

Through the years, my Spirit Guide has been a strong support for me in times of difficulty and in helping me to understand what my spiritual path is. He never gives me the answer to personal problems that I may have in my life; he encourages me to figure it out on my own.

In the end, your own Spirit Guide is your greatest ally and your biggest supporter in all that you do and has no judgments whatsoever with whatever choices you make.
