Lasagna

You know how they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach? Well, while it may be more true of men than of women, it's actually true for both sexes! Especially if the woman in question loves great food as much as I do. Cooking somebody a great meal is a wonderful want to give them a hint of what life with you might be like. When you create something for somebody, it makes them feel special and like they matter to you. And when what you cook also tastes incredible, the experience becomes sensual as well. It's one of the best ways to "seal the deal" on a date.

Met somebody you really like on an internet dating site and want to really win them over? Cook them something wonderful. Read on for the top 10 dishes to cook for a date-- including the best five for guys, and the best five for girls.

Meals to Cook for Men

1. Steak & Potatoes.

The truth is, most men are "meat and potatoes" types. So you just can't go wrong with this classic. A well cooked steak, a baked potato or scalloped potatoes, and a salad served with a bottle of wine can never go wrong. And it takes no time at all to prepare.

2. Roast Chicken.

Something about a whole roast chicken is the perfect thing to remind a man of home. Especially if you want him to look at you as marriage material, this kind of homey meal is the perfect thing (there are even recipes online for something called "engagement chicken!"). Serve it up with veggies, potatoes, and some crusty bread to sop up all the juices.

3. Lasagna.

There's a reason why Garfield gorges on this stuff! It's flavorful, it's homey, it's meaty, and it's a classic. You can't go wrong with a big slice of lasagna, a crisp Caesar salad, and a bottle of Italian red wine.

4. Chili.

Spicy, full of rich and complex flavors, homey, and filling, a bowl of chili speaks right to a man's heart. Sure, it'll give you guys both onion breath, but all that spice will really heat up the night. Make your own cornbread and give him a tall, frosty beer, and you'll win him over for life.

5. Sushi.

Does your guy have an adventurous palate? Make sushi for him. Or, even better, get everything prepared and than make sushi together. It's fun, intimate, and eating it together afterwards will feel very sensual. And if won't fill him up too much if he wants you for dessert.

Cooking for a man is really pretty easy, no matter what you make. After all, even if the food turns out terrible, if you have plenty of cleavage showing the food won't even matter!

Meals to Cook for Women

1. Fondue or Raclette.

Don't call yourself "Mr. Chef" on your internet dating profile, and feel less than confident about your cooking skills? A meal like fondue, raclette, or just some French cheeses and crusty bread is easy to make, delicious, and ultra romantic. Just make sure she's not lactose intolerant first.

2. Seafood Fettuccini.

For most women, pasta is sort of our version of steak and potatoes (not that some of us don't prefer steak!). A pasta dish with a buttery sauce and plenty of seafood is bound to impress her. Especially when it's served with a nice salad and a big bottle of chilled white wine.

3. Shrimp or Lobster.

There's a very good reason to make this sort of dish for a woman on a date. Not only is shellfish elegant and delicious, it's also an aphrodisiac. Splashing out on fancy ingredients is a good way to show that you're serious about her... just don't do it on the first date. If you don't want to seem to be going over the top, a nice filet of salmon will do just as well.

4. Stir Fry.

It's light, it's flavorful, and it's good for her. If you think your date may want to get between the sheets with you later, giving her something light to eat can act as an extra encouragement. Plus, stir fries are ultra easy and always taste great.

5. Order Pizza and Just Make Dessert.

If men are all about meat and potatoes, women are all about dessert. Chocolate desserts, to be specific. If you don't want to spend all day slaving in the kitchen, order dinner out and focus on a special dessert made just for her. The more chocolaty the better!
