Manners and the Lack Thereof

Now that the primary nominations are in the bag, the true battle for the White House has begun. In one corner, we have Republican John McCain, a 71-year-old Senator from Arizona. In the other, we have the Democratic contender, young 46 year old Illinois Senator, Barack Obama. These are two vastly different contenders (okay, enough with the boxing metaphor-- we’ll call them “candidates” from here on out), with vastly different views on politics, policies, and everything under the sun (especially the intensely hot sun of the Middle East).
But the real question is… who’s going to win?
I apologize to all you Republicans out there, but… it looks like it’s going to be Obama. Of course, it’s never over until it’s over, but even the biggest Barak-basher has to admit… things are looking good for this history making candidate. Why? Because:
He’s Very Un-Bush
Currently, George Bush has the lowest approval rating in the history of his presidency… and all it seems to do is fall. As of June 2008, only 25% of Americans approve of the job George Bush is doing as President. That’s just a measly percentage point more than good ol’ Dick Nixon had during the height of the Watergate scandal.

And Bush has scandals of his own. With the Bush administration winding down, shocking new ones are coming out of the White House all the time… and only worsening the atmosphere for the Republican candidate. Combine that with a painfully bad economy, rising gas prices, and a very unpopular war, and you have a great environment in which a charismatic Democratic candidate with a record of ethics reform can thrive.
He's Sexy… and Wired
Have you ever heard somebody say that John McCain is sexy? His wife perhaps. While you may or may not find Barack Obama handsome he is charismatic and a dynamic public speaker. A candidate with an ability to inspire, he’s encouraging more people to vote than ever before, especially young voters. These are people who normally can’t be pulled away from the beer bong long enough to study, much less vote for a president.
Popularity among a wider range of voters has also given Obama a greater presence on the net. In each election, the Internet is having an increasingly large effect on voter opinion, as more and more people get their news while sitting down in front of their PC instead of their TV. 35% of Americans say they’ve watched political videos online, and another 10% (mostly young Americans) use sites like Facebook to become involved in campaigns or get information about candidates. And Obama’s presence on the net is greater than McCain’s.
He’s Loaded
This is a simple one: Obama has more campaign money than McCain. During the primaries, he proved an ability to raise an amazing amount of money from his supporters. So when made to decide between taking a finite amount of public funding to pay for his campaign or foregoing public funding in order to be able to raise an unlimited amount, he went with the unlimited route. This gives him the ability to hugely outspend McCain in advertising and campaigning… and really improves Obama’s chances at the White House.

It's tough not to agree with most of these comments, does McCain really have a chance?

Ron Paul and Obama have influenced a ton of new young voters, but since Obama has a much better chance at winning, hes got my vote.
