Some information about North Charlotte, North Carolina

The Queen City, named after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg, was a hotbed of revolutionary opinion and was home to both British and American forces during the Revolutionary war. A major financial centre, perhaps the outcome of being the site of the USA’s first gold rush in the early 1800’s. Charlotte is home to the US National Whitewater Centre with over 300 acres of woodlands along the Catawba River. Families will enjoy Carowinds, a 108 acre family entertainment park. Museums, sports including the NFL Carolina Panthers and Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Charlotte has a southern charm all its own.
