Founded in 1812, Columbus, OH is named after explorer Christopher Columbus. The city’s zoo is world renowned for its display of gorillas, manatees, tigers and cheetahs. The zoo complex also contains a water and amusement park, scheduled to open in may 2008. The Ohio State Fair is one of the largest in the country and will be held this year from July 30 to August 10th.
