Some information about Cremona

Cremona is located 59 miles southeast of Milan and 61 miles south of Bergamo. Famous the world over as being the birthplace of Monteverdi (the father of modern opera), and of Stradivari (or Stradivarious), who made violin-making an art. The city is centered around Piazza del Comune where you will find Romanesque cathedrals, the Torrazzo dating from the 13th century and is the tallest bell tower in Italy, and the Museo Stradivariano where you can see a collection of models, designs of Stradivari the violin--maker. Culinary delights include rice with rhubard, grilled baby piglet and traditional spaghetti alla marinara and ravioli with radicchio.
