Relatively undiscovered, especially by North Americans, this city is richly blessed, with much of its legacy intact. Historical treasures include a great cathedral, the Este Castle, and several ducal palaces. Traditional Ferrarese cuisine includes Ferrarese bread, the salama da sugo, cappellacci di zucca, and pasticcio di maccheroni, or if you are really adventurous, boiled calves' head and tongue!
