Some information about Gdansk (danzig)

Poland’s largest shipyard and birthplace of the Solidarity movement of the 1980’s, Gdansk will be the site of a Queen concert in October of 2008. Summer time offers beaches in the Stogi and Brzezno districts along with walking and cycling paths. Long Street and Market Street (the Royal Route) are among the most beautiful in the city with architecture dating back to the Middle Ages. The Nowy Port lighthouse is a tribute to the port with its exhibition of instruments and lighthouses over the centuries. Two bird reserves on Sobieszewo Island, along with beaches and forests make this a great place to spend the day.
