Founded in 1621, Gothenburg is located at the mouth of the Götha Älv river. To get the most bang for your buck, purchase a Göteburg pass which permits entry to numerous attractions and includes a transit pass. Also included is a guided tour in an open air bus, great if you’re pressed for time and want to see as much as possible in a short period of time. Take a trip to the Botanical Garden, the Natural History Museum and the Göteborg Archipelago, a car free zone, where you can visit the 17th century Älvsborg Fortress.
