The fastest growing city in Canada, Grande Prairie was experiencing a large influx of residents so the city decided it was necessary to construct a new Highway 43 which is mile zero on the Alaska Highway to Dawson Creek, B.C. During the summer months many tourists pass through the CANAMEX Corridor which links Canada to Mexico through the United States.
