Located on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, and only 90 miles from the coast of Africa, Las Palmas offers visitors a unique mix of European and African diversity. Three beautiful beaches offer fun in the sun, while its historical legacy is reflected in the historical neighbourhoods. The Canary Island Museum has a terrific collection of Guanche (pre-Columbian settlers) artefacts. If you’re in a party mood be sure to attend the City Festival in June, or the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in January.
