Some information about Mantova

Known as the most romantic city in the world, Mantua is an ancient city offering plenty of art and architecture to feast one's eyes on. Visit the ducal apartments of the Gonzagas at Piazza Sordello, with more than 500 rooms and 15 courtyards. The 15th century Basilica of Sant'Andrea is located off of Piazza Mantegna, and the beautiful Renaissance palace, Palazzo Te, built in the 16th century is known for its beautiful frescoes by Giulio Romano. Traditional fare includes both freshwater and saltwater fish, traditional agnoli (a type of pasta), bollito misto (boiled meats), polenta, gnocchi and tortellini stuffed with pumpkin.
