Some information about Parma

Parma is located 284 miles northwest of Rome and 60 miles northwest of Bologna. It's home to the world's most famous cheese - parmesan. It is a mecca for art and opera lovers alike. Local attractions include Il Duomo, built in the Romanesque style in the 11th century, Battistero, piazza del Duomo - a Baptistery of Antelami, Abbey of St. John (San Giovanni Evangelista). Almost any dish served here is bound to have some cheese in it! Try roast veal stuffed with cheese or chicken flavored with wine and gorgonzola cheese, crepes alla parmigiana (crepes stuffed with fontina cheese), Parma ham and ricotta...and the list goes on!
