Some information about Spoleto

Spoleto is just 80 miles north of Rome and 30 miles southeast of Assisi. Host of the world-famous Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of Two Worlds), where the chic and fashionable, artistic, and artsy flood this little Umbrian hill town to attend performances. This lovely town is filled with palaces of Spoletan artistocracy, medieval streets, towers, and churches such as San Gregoria Maggiore, which was built in the Romanesque style in the 11th century. Traditional fare includes delicious risotto with truffles.
