Everything doesn't have to match or be the exact colourwhen decorating. If it feels good when you look at it then it is probably complimentary. Take a chance. Mix textures and wood types with different styles. Add a WOW colour for surprise and punch. Less is best. Find unique pieces that evoke conversation.

Thanks for the tip... I painted one of my walls a complementing, yet off color in my living room... it looks great, adds depth.
