This is very Yummy and easy to make.

Figs with Blue Cheese and Walnuts
Makes 20 hors d'oeuvres

Ingredients:

1/4 lb good quality blue cheese or stilton
10 fresh figs
20 walnut halves
Salt and pepper, to taste
3 tbsp honey

Method:

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Lightly toast walnut halves on a cookie sheet until fragrant (5 minutes).

Cut each fig into half, cutting a small slice off the bottom of each so fig, so it will lie flat, cut side up.

Top each fig half with a piece of blue cheese and a walnut half. Season with salt and pepper.

Bake at 375°F for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Immediately drizzle each fig piece with a little honey and serve warm.

This one was a party dish creation. We were looking for a super quick "emergency style" hors d'oeuvre that was impressive and elegant, a ‘wee' bit decadent, and could be whipped up with guests already on your door step, still leaving you calm, cool and unflapped.

Serve figs warm on a crostini or topped on your favorite green salad.

Use gorgonzola or goat's cheese in place of the stilton.

Use pecans or hazelnuts in place of walnuts.
