Jerry9092005 | I was listening to a radio show recently that addressed the evolution of relationship and marriage over the centuries. Your original post speaks of love in terms of feelings, sensations and ranges of human emotion. The show in question contended that the ideal of love as an integral element of marriage has been inserted to such a degree that we now find in our common parlance the ideas of "falling in love" and "falling out of love." This evolution tends to discount, to a certain degree, the socio-economic contract/arrangement of marriage on the one hand and, more importantly, undermines love as a decision and transforms it into a mere emotion, transient and fragile.
